Greek yogurt, aka Strained yogurt, is a popular choice for breakfast and snacks but is it Paleo friendly? This yogurt variety seems like a healthy option so our team of Paleo and diet experts did some research to see if it is safe to keep eating Greek Yogurt on the Paleolithic diet without consequences.
Greek Yogurt is NOT Paleo safe because it is a dairy product 👎!
Why is Greek Yogurt Not Paleo?
Greek Yogurt is technically not Paleo safe because it is made of dairy! While it is still a healthy option people that strictly follow Paleo standards. Remember, people during the Paleo era did not maintain cows for milk or make dairy products like Yogurt. Hunter-gatherers were more focused on meat and foraging for food than milking cows!
Our Final Say
Diary products like Greek Yogurt may seem like they are OK on Paleo but they are a dairy product and not allowed. While eating Yogurt does have many benefits – and we think it is OK to have some from time to time – humans in the Paleo era did not make or eat Greek Yogurt!
