Cream of Tartar was invented in 1769 by a Chemist in Sweden by mixing tartaric acid and potassium hydroxide to create potassium acid salt, aka Cream of Tartar. This common baking ingredient in used in many paleo baking recipes as a replacement for commercial baking powders which are NOT Paleo safe.
